PROGRAM GOALS

FOR YOU, A CAMPER PARENT, THE WEEK'S SUCCESS MAY BE MEASURED BY HOW DIRTY YOUR CHILDREN ARE; HOW THEY STRENGTHENED A FRIENDSHIP; HOW THEY PUSHED THEMSELVES TO TRY SOMETHING NEW.

For Camp Wesley Woods, we measure success in many of the same ways, however we also work to help campers... GROW Individually, Grow in Community, and Grow in their Faith.

We believe camp helps camper GROW Individually.

When campers try new things and learn new skills they:

  • Grow in self-esteem and self-confidence.
  • Feel a sense of pride and accomplishment

Campers grow in independence as they:

  • Stay away from home for a week
  • Are given responsibilities to help the group such as – collecting and distributing supplies, helping clean the cabin, helping cook dinner at Home in the Woods, etc.

Campers Have the opportunity to learn leadership skills through:

  • Leader in Training Programs
  • Leading Worship and devotion times
  • Leading activities under the guidance of a Leader

We believe camp helps campers GROW in Community.

When campers live in a cabin community for a week or more they:

  • Learn teamwork and cooperation
  • Learn conflict resolution skills
  • Gain new perspectives from interactions with a diverse group of people

By being apart of a caring camp community, campers:

  • Gain a sense of belonging and self worth
  • feel safe enough to be their authentic selves and share about their lives more deeply
  • Experience hospitality, and participate in practices that care for others
  • Learn and use positive language and good manners
  • Receive encouragement from Leaders and campers who care for them
  • Experience meaningful fellowship that fosters friendship and deeper relationships

We believe camp helps campers GROW in their faith.

Each camper has the opportunity to explore their faith through:

  • Morning worship
  • Cabin Bible Study
  • Evening Campfires
  • Daily interactions with Leaders

Our goal is for each camper to take the next step in their faith journey.

  • For come campers, it might be the first step – an introduction to the Christian Faith
  • For some campers, it might mean a significant spiritual moment where they fully accept God’s grace.
  • For other campers, it might mean another step well into their faith journey – perhaps a challenge to go deeper or be bolder in their faith.

Camper also grow in their faith by being immersed in God’s Creation.

  • They grow closer to God through deeper understanding and experience of God’s Creation.
  • This happens through exploring 344 acres of camp.
  • Through these experiences, campers learn more about Creation, which leads to appreciation and conservation of the natural world.

Journeys are morning elective activities at Wesley Woods that allow campers to focus on building skills and mastering a specific subject area of their choice. Each camper selects a Journey at the beginning of the week and participates in that activity daily, giving them the opportunity to develop confidence and expertise in their chosen area.

Journey options vary each week, but examples include:

  • Outdoor Adventures – Hiking, nature exploration, and survival skills
  • Creative Arts – Dance, drama, or arts & crafts
  • Sports & Games – Basketball, volleyball, gaga ball, and field games
  • Target Sports – Archery and slingshots
  • STEM & Discovery – Hands-on science experiments and nature learning

Our Evening Activities:

  • Sunday: Ignition Campfire – A high-energy kickoff to an amazing week.
  • Monday: Faith Walk – A guided journey through skits and lessons from Bible characters, exploring faith, friendships, and community.
  • Tuesday: Home in the Woods – Every cabin enjoys a cookout and an optional overnight outdoor adventure in wagons, hammocks, barns, or under the stars!
  • Wednesday: All-Camp Game & Community Campfires – Exciting challenges followed by small-group campfires with music, storytelling, and fun.
  • Thursday: Talent Showcase & Stargazing – Campers share their gifts, then relax under the night sky.
  • Friday: Friday Fun Night & All-Camp Campfire – A celebration featuring a dance, awards, and a powerful closing campfire.

COMFY BEDS TO REST YOUR HEAD

241 beds to be exact! At Camp Wesley Woods, it’s our goal to keep our campers happy, safe, and to provide an environment where they can learn and grow. Campers are assigned to cabins by age group. Each camper may use their registration form to request one name as a possible bunk-mate. The person whose name you write down must also write your name down for your request to be honored. If a group of three friends attends together, we are able to accommodate them together in one cabin, however groups of four or more will be broken into smaller pairings.

"I WAS NERVOUS TAKING MY 4TH GRADER TO OVERNIGHT CAMP FOR THE FIRST TIME BUT AS SOON AS WE GOT TO WESLEY WOODS, WE KNEW HE WAS IN GOOD HANDS. THE CABINS WERE CLEAN & COMFORTABLE, THE FOOD WAS GREAT, AND THE STAFF WAS SO FRIENDLY."

WHAT'S THE FOOD LIKE AT CAMP?

We aren’t just saying this because we have to… Our food is seriously one of the BEST parts of camp! Our food service manager brings their personal touch and experience to every meal and we offer a ton of fresh fruits, veggies and alternative for those with dietary restrictions.
